The Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial Petit Robusto cigar features a veiny, dark, oily, yet beautiful Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper that is without flaw. The binder is Ecuadorian with filler coming from both the Oliva and Pepin farms in Nicaragua. The construction is near perfect, just the right amount of filler and burning evenly all the way to the nub. The smoke is thick, white and on a calm day billows around your head.

Jaime Garcia is the son of cigar legend, Jose Pepin Garcia, and although this is the first cigar to feature his name, this is not the first cigar he has blended. The original My Father cigar, a tribute to his father, was his first blend. Now he's back with the Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial, a cigar that is considered to be one of the best new releases of 2010.

The Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial differs from most traditional My Father and Don Pepin blends in that while it is a complex journey of flavors, spice is not the main player but is instead a complementary one. Hitting the nose and tongue are notes of mocha, rich chocolate, nuts, cinnamon and a small smattering of spice. While not the typical cigar we've come to expect from either Pepin, this one still is a wonderful treat.
