The CAO Concert Roadie cigar is more than just an excuse to design some music-themed packaging from a company well-known for their imagination and style. It’s a legit premium smoke crafted to the highest standards and with a blend that really sings. The name was chosen as an homage to Nashville, Tennessee, internationally known as Music City, and CAO’s original hometown. To honor such a celebrated locale, an Ecuadoran Habano Rosado wrapper and a Connecticut Broadleaf binder were selected to front the ensemble of lush Honduran and Nicaraguan filler.
With its guitar pick-shaped band, triple cap, and dark brown color with a few red highlights and small dark veins, the CAO Concert is an impressive stick. The appeal is further enhanced by the aroma of cocoa coming of the wrapper, although there is some molasses at the foot. Easily lit and with a bright white ash that resists any attempt to dislodge it below at least and inch and a half, the initial bursts of flavor are toasted nuts and sweet spices. The seriously straight burn reveals dark coffee and creamy charred oak the further it works into the vitola. The beginning strength of the cigar is medium but rises to medium-full near the end bringing along a good dose of nicotine.
The Roadie Concert from CAO is a 90 rated cigar anyone can enjoy, particularly when sitting at an outside music venue and jamming out to a favorite band. Barring that, a nice deck or patio will suffice, just make sure the radio is going and you have a frosty glass of beer close by. We recommend a crisp malty lager, the type of beverage that also pairs well with cigars like the Pinar Del Rio Original Habano Sun Grown and CyB.
