Gurkha Special Ops
The Gurkha Special Ops is one of the most unique forms of packaging of any cigar, even for Gurkha. Cueing inspiration from the Navy SEALs, Kaizad Hansotia and the team at Beach Cigar Group released Special Ops in yellow and orange Pelican cases. But that wasn't all, inside, Kaizad has included a seven inch tactical knife and challenge coins, in addition to the twenty cigars. The Spec Ops is a 7 1/4 x 54 Double Corona made in the Dominican Republic featuring a dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper over Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers.
For those that are attracted solely because of the packaging, you might be surprised by the cigar. Despite the dark wrapper, this is a medium cigar that has sweet earth, bitter cocoa, cedar and tons of creaminess. The Gurkha Special Ops is medium in strength and medium-full in both flavor and body. Despite the dual bands and special packaging, this is a Gurkha that is truly unique outside of the packaging. It's flavorful, smooth and consistent, regarded as one of the better cigars Gurkha has put out in the past few years. The best part is once you are done, you have a waterproof humidor that holds up to thirty cigars, a great knife and a limited edition travel humidor. Gurkha has trouble keeping these in stock, so get them while you can.
