The 601 Habano Red Churchill is an EO brand cigar that was blended by Don Pepin Garcia. The 601 Habano red is an all Nicaraguan puro featuring a Nicaraguan Habano wrapper. The wrapper is a beautiful rosado color with thin veins. It is slightly oily and well constructed. There is not a pinhole, split, tear, or uneven leaf to be found. The cigar is firm with no noticeable soft spots. Looking at the foot, the filler is well packed and smells of syrup or molasses.
Upon lighting, the syrupy flavor comes out while being joined with flavors of cinnamon and other baking spices. There are also flavors of dirt, pepper, coffee, and freshly cracked peppercorns. This is a simple straightforward smoke without many changes to the flavor over the duration of the stick, but it certainly is an enjoyable combination of flavors.
This cigar burns mostly even though sometimes requires a few touch-ups. The draw is neither firm nor loose and it puts out a fair amount of billowing smoke with each puff. The ash is a dark grey and holds on for a good long while.
Don't be afraid to give this stick a try.
